Why?

The Space Island Group has developed the Space Island Universe Portal to become an all encompassing Space Community. This community permits Subject Matter Experts, the media, educators, students and the general public the opportunity to participate in the flow of information. We want communications and inquiries about the New Space Economy while supporting an idea exchange and opportunities related to news, education and new business opportunities. The topics are related to space research, renewable and sustainable energy, new technologies and innovation. This flow of information is designed to harness global concepts and ideas that help to make this project a reality.

What is the Space Island Group Project?

The Space Island Group Project will become the first Commerical Space Development protocol which will launch the New Space Economy using existing and new launch technologies to allow the Space Island Group to build cities in space.  The modular launch vehicle approach will deliver to space the building blocks needed to make these cities and environments possible.  Each launch vehicle becomes part of the space asset being built and the cost of each launch is eliminated when the launch vehicle components become part of one of the space stations, solar power satellites or other space assets. This simple cost effective method is the key to creating and contributing to this massive space construction project.

How?

The completion of this project is possible with technologies developed over the last  30 years by NASA and the major aerospace companies around the globe.  We will also incorporate new and proven technologies that will add safety, efficiency and or cost savings to the project.  Many of these advances were discovered over the years but due to budgetary constraints were never implemented.  Our goal is to identify these advances, evaluate them and finally implement them. This will result in added stability, reduced risk and the overall success of the Space Island Project.
